Did you know our Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA) was used as the key ingredient in the recent repaving of the Barbados Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) runways?
For those unfamiliar with this product, PMA is a performance grade bitumen renowned for its superior safety and durability; essential to strengthening any infrastructure pathway, especially those withstanding excessively heavy loads like landing aircraft.
Given it is a fundamental component of most airport runways worldwide, using the PMA product at GAIA has now aligned our national airport runways with stringent international asphalting industry criteria and will no doubt spark positive interest from our peers in the global asphalting fraternity.
Using PMA at GAIA was a historic first for Barbados and the wider Caribbean, and now our locally-made product is fast on its way to setting a new benchmark for asphalting excellence in the entire region.
